As part of our effort to support the local music scene, and to improve the conditions in which we experience music, 107.7 The Lake has launched our “Vinyl Experience”.
If you are familiar with record albums, you may know that they contain close to 100% of uncompressed music information as originally recorded by the artist, while CD’s contain only about half that amount. And compressed music files, such as mp3’s are left with even a much smaller percentage than that.
Forget convenience: which would you rather listen to?
That’s why we have released our newest “Lake Local Music Album” as a vinyl record. You’ll find the same great local musicians on the L.P. that are on on our “Lake Local Music Volume Four” compact disc, including bonus tracks by Ani Difranco and Willie Nile recorded live in the Lake Studio. But there is one major difference: you can experience the music in lifelike, uncompressed analogue sound on 140-gram pure virgin vinyl.
This back-to-vinyl movement with the “Lake Local Music Album” is supported by Mighty Taco, and available at Speaker Shop, Record Baron and Hi Fi Hospital.
